A local Fianna Fail TD says the recent rail funding by Minister Ross is just another PR stunt.
Irish Rail says a one billion euro investment will mean more reliable and punctual services as well as improved journey times.
The funding for infrastructure will cover a 5 year period and will include track re-laying, signalling improvements and safety related initiatives.
But Fianna Fail’s Spokesperson on Transport, Marc MacSharry thinks this just more additional fake news and nothing will change in regards to rail capacity or improvements across the North West:
