There are hopes that progress can be made soon on work to reopen a recreation area in Sligo town that has been closed for more than a year because of vandalism.
It’s the Fairgreen, where a new pedestrian and cycleway is to be provided.
Independent Socialist Councillor Declan Bree told this week’s meeting of Sligo County Council that it was unfortuante that people’s enjoyment of the park had to be curtailed because of the actions of a small minority.
