Michael Bohan appointed new Sligo women’s manager

Sligo have appointed Leitrim native Michael Bohan as the county’s new women’s football manager for next season.

Bohan was ratified at Monday night’s Sligo LGFA county convention.

He previously managed Longford to an All-Ireland junior football title in 2016 – and is also a former Leitrim minor manager. Bohan will be assisted by former Sligo senior footballer Paul Durcan.

Sligo will be operating in Division 3 of the ladies national football league next season, having narrowly missed out on promotion in 2019.

The county has been without a permanent manager since joint-managers John O’Hara and David Curran left their posts following a vote of no confidence taken by the players during 2019.

Monday night’s Sligo LGFA AGM saw significant change to the county board executive for 2020.

Eoghan Rua’s Raymond Carden replaces Keith Gilroy as Chairperson while former secretary Ann Cunnane was elected county PRO.

Barry Convey replaces the long-serving Martin Seery as Treasurer.
