Donegal Town win in IPB Pride of Place 2019



Donegal Town has won in the IPB Pride of Place 2019.

The town won in the ‘Population Category: 2000 – 5000 beating Abbeyfeale in Co. Limerick and Ballinrobe in Co. Mayo.

The aim of the competition is to highlight the hard work done by people in their local communities.

The event took place on Saturday last in the Lyrath Hotel, Kilkenny.

Judges went to each nominated town where residents showcased the number of community activities on, the culture and history of the place and a tour showing the particular areas that people are particularly proud of.

Speaking to OceanFM, local business man, Ernan McGettigan, said everyone who was involved wants to bring their communities closer together.
