But first on our show . . . we go to the beautiful Sligo seaside village of Strandhill where, on Wednesday evening last, a new book entitled ‘Strandhill, An Illustrated History’ was launched in the Sligo Airport Terminal Building there. The lady who has painstakingly put this book together is Peigín Doyle, author, journalist and PR consultant. Peigín tells us how this beautiful book with its many previously unseen photos, came to be published. And, of course, we reflect on the history of Strandhill and what old photographs can tell us about our past . . . and indeed about ourselves.
