Arts House Sunday November 24th

Sunday evening, Arts House at 8pm: We’ll hear about the launch of the latest volume of Sligo Field Club’s journal on this coming Thursday at 5:30pm in Liber Books in Sligo.

We’ll also hear about Ballyshannon’s Colaiste Cholmcille’s production of their musical ‘We Will Rock You’ that will run from Nov. 27th to Nov. 30th.

But first to the Middle East, to Gaza, that narrow strip of Mediterranean coastline bordered by Israel and Egypt. It is 15 miles long by 7 miles wide, but is home to two million Palestinians. So what’s life like for the ordinary people who struggle to live in Gaza? That’s exactly what Ballyshannon, Co Donegal man Garry Keane went to find out – – and the result is the documentary film ‘Gaza’, of which he is producer and director. The film has won best documentary at the Barcelona Film Festival, was shown at the Sundance Film Festival and is Ireland’s entry for the Oscars. Garry tells us about both the documentary and the place, Gaza.

And we also have arts news.
