Donegal Gardaí warn of another scam, this time by post

Another scam is doing the rounds in the north west with the latest being a bit more invasive.

A person in Co. Donegal informed their local Garda Station of a letter they received by post with their full name and address claiming they had won over €900,000 in ‘Loteria Primitiva’, which is Spanish for Primitive Lottery.

The letter requested bank details as well as next of kin so they could ‘claim their prize.’

This person had the foresight to let Gardaí know and not respond.

Gardaí are reminding people to be extremely wary of scams, in any form, never give out personal details by text, phone, email or by post and to contact them if they believe they are a victim of a scam.
