60 people waiting for a bed in the north west



There are 60 people on trolleys today waiting for a bed in the north west’s two main acute hospitals.

There are 49 in Letterkenny University Hospital and 11 in Sligo University Hospital.

In Letterkenny, 15 of those on trolleys are in emergency and other areas while there are 34 in wards.

In Sligo University Hospital, there are just two in wards.

Overall throughout the country today, there are 577 patients on trolleys.
