A 22-year old man appeared before a special sitting of Sligo District Court yesterday evening for alleged attempted fraud at a hotel in Sligo town.
Jibola Akanni, with an address of 80 Dublin Street, Dundalk, Co Louth, was charged that on November 16th at The Clayton Hotel on Clarion Road in Sligo he dishonestly by deception induced a person to process payment for a hotel room using the bank account details of another person without their knowledge or consent.
The defendant, who was represented by Mr Tom MacSharry, Solicitor, was released on bail with a number of conditions.
One of the conditions is that he stay out of Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal.
The case was adjourned to December 19th.
