Bundoran RNLI called to scene of upturned kayak

Bundoran RNLI were called out after a crew member spotted an upturned kayak.

The alarm was raised at 2.50pm yesterday afternoon, around Nuns Pool by Bundoran in Co. Donegal, with a lifeboat being launched minutes later.

When crew reached the upturned vessel, they found no one in the area so continued their search for 25 minutes until they were informed the person had been safely taken to shore with the kayak having drifted out to sea.

The RNLI would like to remind people to always ‘respect the water’, always wear a life jacket and always carry a way to communicate with you.
