Donegal Airport needs Public Service Order to survive



A local TD claims that without a Public Service Obligation for Donegal airport, it would struggle to survive.

That’s according to Leas Cheann Comhairle Pat ‘the cope’ Gallagher who has submitted a PSO in a public consultation in the hope to secure the overall future of the airport. Without one, deputy Gallagher believes it would effectively be the same as signing a closure order.

With Northern Ireland set to become a Non EU member state after Brexit, Donegal only have one land connection with the Republic, that being a 6 mile border with Leitrim, Deputy Gallagher says it’s vital that this airport remains open and functional for the development of the entire North West.
