Scanlon: More than 100 farmers across Sligo/Leitrim awaiting BPS payments



Sligo/Leitrim TD Eamon Scanlon says more than 100 farmers across the two counties have yet to receive any payment under the Basic Payment Scheme.

Remote sensing inspections have only been commissioned in the last few weeks even though the deadline for applications closed in May of this year.

Deputy Scanlon says it’s unacceptable that the Department has only started to make checks on farms now — when farmers want their payments in time for Christmas.
