New branding initiative promotes Sligo as world-class place to live, invest and visit

A new initiative will be launched this Thursday to highlight Sligo as a world-class place in which to live, invest and visit.

It’s a new rebranding project with a number of components, including three promotional videos and the launch of a new Sligo tourism brochure and portal website.

Housing costs, rent prices and congestion are all increasing in Ireland’s larger cities and towns.

Sligo County Council has teamed up with business, investment and community stakeholders to showcase what the Yeats County, on the Wild Atlantic Way, has to offer.

The Sligo Economic Forum — a network of private and public stakeholders in County Sligo chaired by Aurivo CEO Aaron Ford — has released three promotional videos to highlight Sligo as a world-class place in which to live, invest and visit.

The first video shows the experience of a young family who came to live in Strandhill.

The ‘Invest’ video shows the story of Bernie Butler, an entrepreneur originally from Dublin who visited Sligo 35 years ago and fell in love with the county.

As CEO of Good 4 U, she has been running a thriving business, and describes Sligo as a perfect location.

The third video shows the wealth of breathtaking scenery in Sligo, with captivating drone footage from Glencar to Enniscrone.

Sligo County Council Chief Executive Ciaran Hayes has been telling Ocean FM News more about the new initiative.

Mr Hayes has also been outlining what the new rebranding effort involves.

The launch of this new rebranding initiative will be performed by the cathaoirleach of Sligo County Council Cllr Tom MacSharry this Thursday afternoon at 4pm in The Model in Sligo.

The launch event will showcase produce from the Sligo Food Trail and Sligo music, while the guest speaker will be John Concannon, vicepresident NUIG.

The new state-of-the-art website, Sligo.ie, will also be officially launched at Thursday afternoon’s event.
