More Concerns as Seaview Respite Care may not likely to reopen until 2020

There are now fresh fears that Seaview Respite House in Mountcharles may not reopen until 2020.

It follows a letter to Donegal TD Pat the Cope Gallagher from Minister for Disabilities Finian McGrath which states that additional fire compliance works are being undertaken with a completion date of November 22nd.

After this HSE Property Management will issue a lease — but not until it has received notification from Rehabcare that all works on the house are complete.

Meanwhile, Rehabcare, which has been awarded the tender to provide the service, must complete its registration of the premises with HIQA.

Deputy Gallagher says this could lead to even further delays as services will not be restored until a full registration has taken place with HIQA.
