Following CAB investigation into extortion in Dublin, local TD wonders where else this might be happening

The Criminal Assets Bureau’s recent extortion investigation in Dublin is leading many to wonder; where else in the country might this be happening.

That’s the view of Sinn Fein Spokesperson on Justice and Equality, Sligo Leitrim TD, Martin Kenny.

Criminals received more than €550,000 in ‘protection money’ over two years from construction contractors working on social housing projects for Dublin City Council the high court case revealed.

It also found that both some companies were so intimidated, that they never gave formal statements to Gardaí.

Speaking to OceanFM, Deputy Kenny says it’s a worrying situation.
