The funeral is taking place this afternoon of 97-year old North Sligo woman Philomena Barry, who was housekeeper to Lord Mountbatten at Classiebawn Castle, at Mullaghmore.
Her remains will be removed from her home this afternoon to The Star of The Sea Church, Mullaghmore, for 2pm Funeral Mass.
In August, she attended the memorial service to mark the 40th anniversary of the Mullaghmore explosion, when four people, including Lord Mountbatten, were killed by an IRA bomb on his fishing boat as it left Mullaghmore harbour.
The late Mrs Barry will be buried in Ahamlish Cemetery.
