Leitrim Gaels were deserving 1-8 to 0-7 winners over Drumkeerin in Sunday’s Smith Monumentals Intermediate football final in Carrick-on-Shannon to lift the Frank Reynolds Cup for the first time in the club’s history.
The victory completed a remarkable journey for the county’s youngest club who were formed in 1997. By winning their first ever intermediate title, they can now look forward to senior championship football in 2020.
