Leitrim is to hold its first ever festival to celebrate the heritage and culture of the Boxty.
As part of Failte Irelands ‘Taste the Island’ Carrick On Shannon will hold the the inaugural Leitrim Boxty Festival on the 19th of October.
This is not to dissimlar to a festival that took place in Bellcoo and Blacklion called ‘Boxty Without Borders’ which was a cross border celebration of the food and drink that bind together the people of the counties Cavan, Leitrim and Fermanagh.
