Woman recovering after being removed from Garavogue River.

Gardai in Sligo yesterday evening responded to reports shortly after 7pm of a female in the water near the Stephen Street Carpark.

Local Gardai, assisted by a member of the public pulled a female from the Garavogue River.

The woman was then removed to Sligo University Hospital A&E by ambulance.

She is being described as being in a ‘comfortable’ condition this morning.

In light of the recent weather warning Gardai are urging the public to take extra care around water with unpredictable high winds and increased water levels leading to dangerous conditions.
