Government expected to sign off on fracked gas terminal in Shannon estuary this Friday

The Irish Government are expected to sign off on a proposed fracked gas terminal in the Shannon estuary as a priority development on Friday next.

It’s a move that has angered many anti-fracking groups right across the country including various groups opposed to fracking here in the north west.

It’s being claimed that the proposed terminal which will be will act as a hub for American fracked gas.

If the plan is rubber stamped on Friday it will also deprive the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Climate Action, an opportunity to scrutinise the government on their proposal.

Jamie Murphy is the chairman of the Love Leitrim Group. He has major concerns about the plan to sign off on the proposed Frack Gas Terminal.
