Sligo sem-finals confirmed

The semi-final line-up for the Belfry Sligo senior football championship was finalised on Sunday following Shamrock Gaels 1-13 to 0-11 win against Calry/St Joseph’s in the their quarter-final replay in Collooney.

The win sets up a semi-final meeting for John McPartland’s side against county champions Tourlestrane next Sunday – in what will be a repeat of the Division 1 league final earlier this year.

The second semi-final next Sunday will be between Coolera/Strandhill and St Mary’s.

The big surprise of the weekend’s intermediate football semi-finals was Bunninadden’s 3-11 to 1-15 win against last year’s county finalists Curry. Easkey beat Enninscrone/Kilglass in the west Sligo derby by 1-14 to 0-11 while Geevagh beat Casleconnor by 1-13 to 0-8 and St Farnan’s had too much for St John’s, winning on a final scoreline of 2-14 to 1-7.
