Calls are being made to address the Home Help Hours scheme as the cold months approach.
It’s after new figures released to Fianna Fail show that across Slgo, Leitrim, Donegal and Roscommon, waiting figures have increased from 413 people in March, to 647 in August.
Sligo/Leitrim Fianna Fail TD, Eamon Scanlon, raised the issue in the dail on Wednesday.
Deputy Scanlon said in Sligo/Leitrim alone, the figures had increased by over 120%
