Donegal TD says criteria for Transport Scheme for people with disabilities is too strict



A Donegal TD says the criteria for people with disabilities to qualify under the Transport Scheme is too high.

Independent Donegal TD, Thomas Pringle, raised the issue with Finance Minister, Paschal Donohoe in the Dail on Thursday.

Deputy Pringle highlighted one person who can’t walk unaided, can only use a wheelchair for short periods due to lack of strength in her arms who also lives in a rural areas without public transport; she was informed that she did not meet the criteria for the scheme.

Speaking to OceanFM, he says it’s non nonsensical.
