Representatives of Coillte, and from the national forestry service are being summoned to appear before a meeting of the Manorhamilton Municipal District of Leitrim Council.
The request was made by the chairperson of the Manorhamilton Municipal District, Fianna Fáil Councillor Mary Bohan.
Cllr Bohan says there have been a number of incidents where forestry companies have not complied with planning laws and that it’s time they were held responsible for their actions which has negatively impacted on members of the community.
