Killybegs beat Dungloe to reach Donegal SFC quarter-finals



Killybegs are through to Siunday evening’s draw for the quarter-finals of the Michael Murphy Sports & Leisure senior football championship following Saturday’s 0-16 to 0-9 against Dungloe in Fintra.

A strong second-half display by John Cunningham’s was decisive in the end as they finish runners up in Group B behind Naomh Conaill. The Glenties men beat MacCumhaill’s by 0-12 to 0-9 to finish top of Group B with three wins out of three.

Saturday’s results mean Dungloe (who finish bottom of the group) go into the senior relegation play-offs.

The quarter-final draw will be made in Glenswilly on Sunday evening at 6:45pm.

Matt Gallagher’s Naomh Brid are through to the last eight of the intermediate championship after a 0-14 to 1-7 win against Red Hugh’s. They finish second in Group A behind Cloughaneely who beat Naomh Ultan by 1-14 to 1-2.

In Group C, Naomh Columba who have already qualified for the quarter-finals, beat Naomh Colmcille by seven points in Pairc na nGael.
