Local Students join climate action protests

The government has failed to meet its climate targets, according to the Minister for Climate Action.

Richard Bruton’s comments come as thousands of school children are striking today in protest in the north west and indeed across the country.

Students walked out of class today to call on the government to do more to tackle climate change.

Roisin Keegan O’ Rourke is a third year student in St Clare’s Comprehensive College in Manorhamilton in County Leitrim.

She say somewhere between 60 to 70 students are taking part in in today’s protest at the school.

Speaking earlier to Ocean FM news she claims it’s vital that young people take action to help save the planet.
