Cathaoirleach of Sligo Council Tom Mac Sharry welcomes protests of climate change



Approximately 400 second and third level students in Sligo have marched in protest over lack of action on climate change today in Sligo.

They are calling on the government to declare a “climate emergency”.

Pupils from schools across the counties of Donegal, Sligo and Leitrim waked out of class to protest over the lack of action on climate change.

Cathaoirleach of Sligo Council Tom Mac Sharry addressed today’s event.

He says the approach of the students climate and environmental was hugely impressive.
