Sludge Treatment Facility Open to Public Consultation in Sligo



Irish Water is to launch a public consultation to develop a sludge treatment facility in Sligo.

The consultation is seeking public and stakeholder views to establish if there is any additional information on other potential sites that could be identified to build a sludge hub centre.

Infrastructure Programme Manager, Paul Fallon identifies that sludge can be treated and disposed of safely and in a way that does not pose a risk to public health, the environment or agricultural lands if the capacity of sludge management facilities are increased across the country:
