Temporary measure introduced to allow farmers depose of dead animals



Farmers that need to depose of fallen animals will be able to obtain of a temporary measure which will allow them to bury the animals on their own land.

The temporary measure has been introduce by the department of agriculture as a short term solution to the closure of over forty knackeries across the country in a dispute over the payments they receive for deposing of fallen animals.

Sligo Leitrim Fianna Fáil TD Eamon Scanlon has been working on the issue with the department in recent days and says the solution will help to prevent major health issues developing on farms across the north west.
