Melvin Gaels to face Glencar/Manor in Leitrim SFC semi-final



Melvin Gaels are through to the semi-finals of the Leitrim Connacht Gold senior club football championship following Sunday’s 0-12 to 0-5 win against St Mary’s Kiltoghert.

James Phelan’s side produced a very well organised defensively display to beat their opponents by seven points.

Glencar/Manorhamilton overwhelmed Allen Gaels on a final scoreline of 6-16 to 0-6, while Sean O’Heslin’s enjoyed an even bigger winning margin against Drumreilly in Carrick-on-Shannon, winning byh 28 points.

Holders Aughawillan are out. They lost by 1-16 to 0-11 to Mohill in a repeat of last year’s county final.

The draw for the senior semi-finals has paired the two north Leitim clubs together.
