Sligo Science Festival secures €30,000 in funding



The Sligo Science Festival which will take place in November has secured 30,000 euro in funding from the Government.

The event, which is organised by Sligo Institute of Technology, has been allocated the funding by the Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation Heather Humphreys.

Nationally an investment of 476,000 euro will support 13 festivals and events during national science week.

The Sligo Festival will run from November 10th to 17th and will have a theme of climate action.

Senator Frank Feighan has welcomed the allocation adding the event will offer people in the region an opportunity to see how technology can make an impact towards creating a cleaner environment.
