Beef plan movement disappointed with no retailer representation at talks



The Chairman of the beef plan movement in Leitrim has expressed his disappointment that retailers won’t be present at today’s second round of beef talks, despite repeated requests from farmers that they be included.

 

The latest round of talks are due to get underway today.

 

Farmers held protests outside supermarket distribution centres around the country yesterday, as part of the ongoing row with meat factories over beef prices.

The protests are expected to continue today.
