A Sligo/Leitrim TD says school secretaries have no option but take action



A Sligo/Leitrim TD says the key roles that secretaries play in school must be acknowledged by giving them adequate pay as well as various rights and entitlements, including pension rights.

It’s as secretaries in schools across the country are to go on strike later this month.

Deputy Marc MacSharry says secretaries have no option but take action.

Trade union Fórsa says their members have already backed industrial action by school secretaries in a national ballot.

The action is to get underway on the 20th of September.
