Bundoran & Kilcar make winning starts to Donegal championship

Bundoran and Kilcar both enjoyed winning starts to the 2019 Michael Murphy Sports & Leisure senior football championship in Donegal.

The Realt na Mara club recorded an important one-pont win against Termon (0-12 to 0-11) in Group D, while Kilcar had a comprehensive 3-16 to 0-7 win against Malin at Towney. Bundoran play Kilcar next Sunday in Gaelic Park at 3pm.

Kilcar’s Eoin McHugh spoke to Ocean FM Sport’s Ciarán Cannon after Sunday’s win:

In Sunday evening’s big Group A meeting, defending champions Gweedore drew with St Eunan’s on a final scoreline of Gweedore 1-3 St Eunan’s 0-7

In group B, Killybegs were well beaten by an impressive Naomh Conaill in Glenties with the home side running out 1-15 to 1-9 winners. Killybegs manager John Cunningham admitted the scoreline probably flattered the losers.
