Campaigners outline concerns about proposed wind turbines in north Leitrim

Proposed wind turbines in north Leitrim would be among the highest in Ireland, visible from six counties, and impact on views from Benbulben, Lough Gill and many other popular local tourist areas.

That’s according to campaigners against the turbines until more information about their affects are known.

The campaigners say they are in favour of renewable energy sources and are not opposed to wind turbines if they are located appropriately.

The proposed turbines at Croagh will be discussed at a public meeting in Dromahair on Thursday, September 12th, in The Clubhouse at 7pm.

Adrienne Diamond outlines what are the main concerns about the turbines:

She also explains the purpose of next week’s public meeting in Dromahair.
