Veterinary lab plays vital role in north west



The decision to safeguard the long-term future of Sligo veterinary lab has been welcomed by a leading IFA official in the north west.

Agriculture Minister Michael Creed confirmed yesterday that that there would be design, building and commissioning of a state-of-the-art laboratory in Sligo to replace the existing facilities by the end of 2024.

The plans have were announced as part of an estimated capital investment of €33.5m in rebuilding the Laboratory Network over the next 10 years.

The Chairperson of the Sligo IFA is Kathleen Henry . . . she says the facility in Dunally plays a vital role in the farming community, not only in Sligo but also in surrounding counties.
