Takeover of 36 estates significant, says Leitrim council chief executive



The chief executive of Leitrim County Council has described the decision of the local authority to take charge of 36 housing estates in the County as ‘hugely significant’

A total of 36 housing estates were officially taken in charge by the Council following their monthly meeting on Monday last.

Householders on these estates will be able to report issues with lighting, footpaths or public roads to the council and have them repaired by the local authority.

Lar Power is the Chief Executive of Leitrim County Council . . . he says the Council had a number of boxes to tick before the process could have been completed.
