Renewed focus on needed insulin pump for Sligo University Hospital

With construction of a new diabetes centre at Sligo University Hospital to start later this month, a renewed focus is now being put on the campaign for the provision of insulin pump therapy at the hospital.

There also a need for those who need the therapy to be given training on how to use the pump.

Councillor Donal Gilroy, who is joint chairmamn of the Sligo branch of Diabetes Ireland, is delighted the new centre is going ahead — but he has vowed they are not stopping the campaign for improved services.
