Warning notices erected at Sligo beaches following heavy rainfall

Warning notices have been erected at three beaches in Sligo this morning to let bathers know that the water quality may be affected by the recent heavy rainfall.

Sligo County Council has put the signs in place at Rosses Point, Enniscrone and Mullaghmore beaches.

The local authority says it has taken the action in order to prevent bathers’ exposure to possible pollution and to protect public health.

Samples of the water will be taken on Monday to determine if there is any risk to bathers’.
