North-west GPs urged to take part in medication study



A cross-border primary care study is recruiting GPs from across the north west.

Doctor surgeries in Donegal, Sligo and Leitrim with more than one GP are being invited to take part in medication reviews of patients with multiple long-term health conditions.

A research team from NUI Galway, including partners from Queen’s University Belfast, have been awarded funding of €500,000 for the research with is called MyComrade+.

Project Manager Dr Lisa Hynes, says there are many challenges for patients with multiply conditions – one of which is the management of different medications and treatment plans.
