Make Way Day all about raising awareness of the everyday obstacles faced by those with disabilities

A Sligo councillor is calling for support for a new initiative aimed at making life easier for those with disabilities as they move about in public spaces.

It’s called Make Way Day, which takes place on September 26th.

Now in its third year, it is led by the Disability Federation of Ireland, and has the support of 18 of the country’s local authorities, the Irish Wheelchair Association and Enable Ireland.

Cllr Casserly is now calling on Sligo County Council to support the initiative.

She has been telling Ocean FM News what will be happening on Make Way Day.

She also explained how creating awareness is a key aim of Make Way Day.
