Donegal Town wins ‘Foodie Towns 2019’ award

Donegal Town has been announced as the winner of the ‘Foodie Towns 2019’ award.

The award is given to towns or villages where tourism is a primary part of the local culture and economy.

The competition is run by the Restaurants Association of Ireland and the winner is decided through a combination of votes from the public and points from a judging panel.

Meanwhile ‘The Food Coast Donegal’ came third in the Foodie Destination 2019 competition.

Project co-ordinator of the ‘Taste of Donegal’ and one of those behind the application for the Foodie Towns competition, Mary McGettigan says winning the competition is a recognition of high standard of food available in the area.
