Without adequate resources and training for Gardai the new Garda reform measures are doomed to fail.
That’s according to the Sinn Fein Spokesperson on Justice and Equality, Sligo Leitrim TD Martin Kenny.
Deputy Kenny says that while an emphasis on community policing and a reduction in administrative duties for Gardai in favour of more front line services are to be welcomed.
However he feels that the new reform measures will be unsuccessful unless additional resources are provided to the Gardai to implement them.
