Border Region needs emergency Brexit Fund

Counties such as Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal need to be prioritised with a “Brexit fund” in order to soften the blow from a possible no deal Brexit.

That’s according to The British Irish Chamber.  They are calling on the Government here to prioritise such a scheme over a rainy day fund.

The Group are looking for one billion euro to be set aside to support locally based businesses that will be impacted the most by a hard Brexit.

CEO of the British-Irish Chamber John McGrane says the Brexit date at the end of October is approaching fast, and events such as the possibility of the UK government suspending Parliament is adding to the concern of businesses owners.
