Sunday’s senior club championship round-up



SLIGO
There were wins for Tubbercurry and Coolaney/Mullinabreena on Sunday evening in the Belfry Sligo senior football championship. David Kelly helped inspire Tubber to a 1-12 to 1-6 win against Shamrock Gaels in the Group 1 game in Bunninadden.

In Group 2, Coolaney/Mullinabreena came from five points down at half-time (1-9 to 0-7) to beat Drumcliffe/Rosses Point by five on a final scoreline of 1-16 to 0-11. DRP captain Neil Ewing was red-carded early in the second-half. Despite the result, both sides are assured of places in the quarter-finals.

LEITRIM
Glencar/Manorhamilton continued their impressive unbeaten record on Saturday evening in Group 1 of the Connacht Gold senior football championship with a 2-12 to 1-9 win against Drumreilly. With four wins out of our, the north Leitrim side are already through to the quarter-finals. Melvin Gaels hopes of joining them are still alive after a 0-17 to 0-10 win against Fenagh/St Caillin’s.
