Donegal is basking in the success of a novelty digital promotional effort.
Recently, people from Donegal and those from the county around the world were urged to tweet about the county and their lives or businesses.
The so-called hashtag Love Donegal Day reached worldwide of more than 33 million, trended at Number 1 in Ireland and also trended in the UK and the US.
It followed a previous 10-day initiative to connect people from Donegal living in Ireland and around the world. It drew attention to networking events and workshops on the practicalities of relocating or returning to Donegal.
Head of Enterprise in Donegal Michael Tunney says the success of the events surpassed their wildest dreams.
