Donegal distance runner Mark English won the men’s 800 metres in Birmingham on Sunday in a time of 1min 45.94 seconds.
It was a hugely encouraging performance by the Letterkenny man given that he pulled up during the 800 at the Cork City Sports last weekend.
English’s time was marginally outside the 1.45.80 qualifying standard for next month’s World Athletic’s Championships in Doha.
