In this week’s Arts House on Sunday evening at 8pm with Harry Keaney, we will have a very interesting and informative interview about thatching and thatched roofs with Dr Fidelma Mullane, a leading authority on vernacular culture, who will be speaking at an event in Manorhamilton on the evening of August 21st at 7pm in the Leitrim Sculpture in Manorhamilton.
We will also hear from Eamon Bonner of North West Words, who will tell us about a very special event taking place on August 29th in Dillon’s Hotel in Letterkenny.
Heritage Week is currently in full swing, with loads of events taking place across the North West. To give us a flavour of what’s going on for Heritage Week, we have the three heritage officers for the region — Siobhan Ryan from Sligo, Sarah Malone from Leitrim and Joe Gallagher from Donegal.
We have arts news and a song from a family trio based in Cork called Greenshine. On Saturday, August 24th, they will perform in the Moy River Folk Club in Cloonacool, Co Sligo.
