Motorists in south and west Donegal are to benefit from upgrades to the N56 road.
Improvements are due to be carried out on three sections of the route over the coming months.
Works are due to start on a section of road from Frosses to Inver Bridge in the late Autumn while tenders are being sought for a contractor for works between Dungloe to Cloughbolie.
Donegal Deputy Pat the Cope Gallagher says this will greatly benefit communities using the road for their daily commute.
