Hundreds of workers being laid off as beef price dispute continues



Hundreds of workers at beef plants are being temporarily laid-off as protests by farmers continue at 20 sites across the country.

Three factories belonging to Dawn Meats have already started implementing temporary job losses.

Meat Industry Ireland says beef plant owners are taking legal action and more companies will lay off workers if pickets continue.

Beef Plan Movement farmers are unhappy with what they feel are the low prices they’re getting for their livestock.
